Hello and welcome to my Falken Wildpeak A/T3W review.

Falken Wildpeak A/T3W has been called a tier that beats the competition in terms of winter performance, wet condition capabilities and wear and tear over the miles. Additionally, this tier is also known to scale high altitude

First Impression

Falken says that the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W has been “engineered for adventure, any time and any weather”; and the first impression that these tires make is exactly the same. The tire looks aggressive. It has a tread pattern fit for off-roading and adventure sports. However, unlike most of the tire made for off-roading the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W is as good on the roads as anywhere else. Moreover, the quality and the compound looks and feels strong which gives me the confidence that these tires can handle any kind of road and weather conditions.

The outer sidewall of the tire has a special heat diffuser mechanism which protects the inner casing against excessive heating making the tire last longer on the road. The upper sidewall is another notable feature of this tire which protects the tire from cuts and scratches while off-roading. Plus, when the tire pressure drops, the sidewall also ensures better traction and grip on sand and rock.

Considering the features and quality of the tire, I would put the tire in a rather budget price spectrum. These tires are made for premium SUVs that are often taken off road by the owners into the rocky and wild terrain. If you are one of these owners looking to get tires that are reliable and dependable, the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W is definitely a model to consider. The tire costs a decent amount of money but provides an experience and durability that is promised by the high end tire manufacturers.

Falken Wildpeak A/T3W Review: Test Ride

The Falken Wildpeak A/T3W is an adventure lover. It is made for rugged trails and still function well on the regular city roads. Sadly, I did not get a chance to test ride these myself and had to rely one of the few persons I trust when it comes to automotive reviews. This man has spent all his life exploring the wilderness of the trucks and SUVs, experimented with them, turned them into beasts, loved them, flirted with them and even improvised on their design and performance. I don’t think there can be anyone else better than this guy to ask for a review of Falken Wildpeak A/T3W.

He mentioned that he used it on his BMW SUV for a couple of years before they got damaged while he was on an adventure because of his ‘amateur’ and stupid mistake. Anyway, we met for a cold one and he shared his thoughts on the tire and pros and cons of getting one.

Dry Conditions

These tires work great on the dry roads. They stick to the road, glide the way they should and even make the steering wheel feel lighter. This is not just the case on the dry city roads, even on the dry bumpy, rocky roads, the grip and the lightness of the steering can be felt. The speeds does not affect the performance on the dry roads much which is a good sign. Even at high speeds, the tire does not lose traction or control. Well, this is the minimum you can expect from a premium tire.

Wet Conditions

Being an off-roading tire means that the tire has been designed in a way that will perform exceptionally well on the damp roads.  As expected, the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W has little problem traversing over the water puddles, muddy waters, rainwater and even drenched concrete roads. This is a trickster in water and throws the water several feet away from the vehicle. The tire suffers no skid or skip whatsoever and the responds to break in the most efficient way.

Snow/Icy Conditions

I had been hearing so much about Falken Wildpeak A/T3W from so many people that I knew that this tire would perform great in the snow as well. I was told that the tire is a beast in the snow. Even in deep snow, the tire is able to find and hold on to the ground without a problem. The stubborn and durable sidewall helps the tire to stay in control and make the owner feel proud and confident. On slippery roads, the tire works along with the rest of the systems fitted in the car which prevent it from slipping to keep the vehicle under the control of the driver and never have a moment of miss.

Comfort and Noise

When we talk about SUVs and other sports grade vehicles, one can be sure that the comfort is going to be next level. Adding these tires to an already comfortable ride makes the deal even sweeter. The Falken Wildpeak A/T3W adds more luxury to the vehicle and not for once makes you feel an extra bump while driving. The off-roading experience is equally good. These tires are capable of taking anything on them and perform like a rock-star.

Noise is not a problem with Falken Wildpeak A/T3W. They are well refined and amazingly silent. On the straight and city roads you would not hear a squeak coming out of the tires and when you off-road, well the noise does not matter, you have to take care of a lot of other things.

Wear and Tear

The Falken Wildpeak A/T3W undergo minimal tear you can imagine. They are strong, hard and have deep treads which ensure amazing efficiency when it comes to life of the tire. You might damage them in other ways but a normally operational and under-control vehicle will need to run several thousands of miles to wear these babies out.

Final Word

If you love off-roading and need a set of tire that can also be driven to your office, Falken Wildpeak A/T3W is what you need. It is beautiful, strong, and majestic; and makes the ride look aggressive. These are the tires your SUV has been waiting for. Plus, your wallet is going to love them.
