BBC elite reflect on public

Read Andrew Marr's extraordinarily patronising comments about members of the public bloggers. (Hattip ConHome)

I hope he meant to be humorous? 

If you are part of a lefty-leaning, broadcasting elite, shuttling between White City and various book festivals, it must be a bit troubling when you come face-to-face with what ordinary people think about things read blogs.

The internet democratises comment and opinion forming.  Like the printing press in early modern Europe, it challenges the monopoly of an elite.  It threatens to overthrow a priesthood of pundits.  No wonder they don't like it.
