BBC Hardtalk: how we should respond to the Eurozone crisis

The bailout-and-borrow approach to dealing with the Eurozone crisis has failed.

Our government should stop supporting it - and instead advocate a different policy response in order to help free millions of European people from the burden of debt and the unbearable pressures created by a monetary monster.

Ministers must do more than regurgiate what the Treasury mandarinate tell them - and think for themselves.  Would it not be wiser for striken Euro countries to adopt the 3Ds:  Decouple from the Euro, Default on the debt and Downsize the bloated public sector?

On BBC Hardtalk I debate with a German academic, who thinks a European debt union will fix the problems created by a European currency union.  And an Italian politician who believes that the answer to his country's debt problem involves more Europe and German taxpayers' money.
