Can we have confidence in the judiciary?

I've just been reading a court judgement forwarded to me by a constituent.  I'm shocked by it.  Not because of what it says, but because of how badly written it is. 

It is full of typing errors.  It is inarticulate - so much so that at times it is far from clear what the author actually means.

I'm not sure I'd have a great deal of confidence in the author's judgement about anything.  And yet they sit in judgement determining the future of people's lives.

Perhaps we need more transparency and openness in the courts - particularly the family courts - so that we can see what the judges do and how they do it.
