Default and decouple are coming to Euroland

Just as this blog forecast, it seems that default and decouple are coming to Euroland.  According to a German magazine, it is now being actively considered in Athens this weekend.

Few mainstream pundits saw this coming because they spent their time regurgitating the assurances they were fed by official press spokesmen, rather than thinking for themselves.

But default is more a question of maths - not political will.  Greek debt is growing faster than her economy.  Ditto Portugual and Ireland.  And not a single £ we have lent Lisbon and Dublin has helped that situation, merely making things worse.

What about all those assurances we were given that the £10 Billion loans we've stumped up to bailout the Euro over the past year will all be paid back?
