End in sight for defence procurement racket?

The Ministry of Defence has announced an investigation of the terms under which they dish out contacts where only one supplier is invited to tender.  In other words, has the taxpayer been systematically ripped off by a cosy relationship between the buyer and the seller - all under the guise of "national security"?

About time, too.

Having raised concerns about this, a couple of years back a rather snide article appeared - anonymously - on the UK Defence Forum blog site.  It suggested I should be "wearing a straight jacket", and informed its readers that Carswell was failing to "win friends and influence people".

Turns out I wasn't so daft .  And today's reforms sound an awful lot like this blog's agenda.

Now, about all those other contracts that were supposedly open to tender ....
