Embrace democracy, David Cameron tells China.
As China inches towards economic, and even civic, freedoms, Europe seems to be sliding towards technocracy.
At the same moment Cameron spoke, Herman Van Rompuy, unelected Eurocrat, apparently told a dinner last night that we needed to ditch national self-determination. The age of nation states is coming to an end. Nation's cannot exist on their own. Blah blah.
Somehow I doubt that's what they're saying in China, India, Australia, America, Turkey, Brazil or the up-and-coming parts of the planet.
According to Van Rompuy, the disaffection people feel for the Euro project is all the fault of the Eurosceptics. Nothing to do with the arrogant, high handed EU elite who have foisted their grand schemes on the rest of us and pinched on taxes and democracy, eh Herman?
