Fielding a question about hiring Andy Coulson

Back in June 2007, a journalist 'phoned me up and asked me what I thought about the decision to hire Andy Coulson as Tory PR supremo, announced a day or so before.

I said I'd call them back, before spending a few minutes on google.

I then 'phoned them back and said, on the record, I thought it was a bad move for the Conservative party to be taking on the former editor of the News of the World.
