Get growing

A few years back, I discovered a previously unknown interest in making things grow.  Where does this middle aged interest in gardening come from?

Perhaps there is a "gardening gene", that switches on where we reach thirty-something, and which dates back from the time when we lived in caves?

In that distant past, maybe our ancestors got to the stage in life when they could no longer chase mammoths or gazelle across the plains alongside younger members of the tribe.  So they had to potter around the vegetable patch instead.

With spring on the way, readers might find themselves planning what to plant and where.  I recommend you take a look at this excellent on-line seed supplier - Alan Romans.  I managed to buy most of the seeds I wanted for this year for less than £20.
