Apparently Greece needs another bailout. The previous ones have failed.
Who'd have thought, eh?
Well actually pretty much everyone - except those technocrats in charge of trying to sort the mess out.
And of course the politicians who faithfully regurgitate the briefing notes officials hand them.
Plus, it goes without saying, the "expert" pundits. And the courtier commentariat. And the bankers with a vested interest in telling us public handouts are the answer. Doh!
But everyone else could see that one bailout begets another.
Greece today has much larger debts than she did before being "bailed out". Far from rescuing Greece, almost everything that has been done this past 18 months has made things worse.
Default and decouple are the only long term answer. The longer it takes to get there, the larger the debts, the greater the pain and the worse the consequences.
