Keeping interest rates low over the years has encouraged excessive borrowing, disincentivised saving, punished the prudent, rewarded debtors, created a mountain of debt and made the UK economy overly dependent on consumption.
I see that the same thinking that got us into this mess still holds sway at the Bank of England.
