Is Ireland being sacrificed to save the Euro?

Britain was right to stay out of the Euro.  Subsequent events have proved how unwise it is to foist a common fiat currency and monetary policy on widely different economies.

But we should take no satisfaction in the disaster that monetary union is inflicting on millions of families and businesses across Europe.

Some of our greatest trading partners and closest friends are being ruined by the Euro.  Prosperity and hope are being sacrificed in Ireland, Portugal, Spain and even Italy in the name of monetary union.

Britain should do all it can to support our friends and neighbours.  Not by bailing the Euro out, but by helping countries out of the Euro.

The misery and pain in Ireland will only stop when Ireland has freed herself from monetary union.
