Lib-Con pact?

There's some talk about Liberals and Conservatives having an electoral pact under which they'd agree not to stand against each other in some seats.  Hummm ..... 

If two established companies collaborated to rig the market place like that, might they not be prosecuted?

Please explain how Lib-Con market fixing would make politicians more accountable to the people?

Might it not just rig the political market place against the electorate?  I've no doubt insulating politicians from the verdict of the people would suit some MPs.  It'd help do away with things like being elected out of office.  Or losing your seat.

But how is that good for everyone else?

"New politics" is supposed to mean more choice and competition.  A Lib-Con pact would mean less.
