Non, Monsieur

The French Prime Minister, Francois Fillon, says that Britain must help save the Euro.

Nonsense. 

The Euro has brought disaster on our near neighbours.  It has lumbered them with catastrophic debts and removed the prospect of prosperity for a generation.  It has also, arguably undermined European democracy in some member states, who now face the prospect of budgets being imposed from abroad.   

Europe needs less Euro, not more European level decision-making.  Rather than give bankrupt Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Greece and others more high interest loans, we should be encouraging them to decouple from the Euro and default on their debts.  It's going to happen eventually any how - the issue is how much good money is thrown after the bad in the meantime.   

George Osborne's apparent approval of Alistair Darling's disastrous Stabilisation Mechanism deal means Britain already faces massive Euro debt liabilities until 2013.  Rather make things even worse, the Chancellor needs to focus on sorting out UK debts, not lumbering us with more from Euroland.
