Prisoners to get the vote - another reason why we shouldn't be governed from Europe

Why are European institutions able to decide public policy despite that fact the our elected government thinks otherwise?  If so, then what is the point in elected MPs in the first place? 

Anger doesn't solve the problem.  A referendum on our supranational entanglements with Europe might.
