Who's been lobbying for Libya?

It increasingly looks like there's been a concerted effort over the past decade to rehabilitate the Libyan regime in the UK.

Money to the LSE. London lectures. Backs scratched and ministers met.

Did the Tripoli tyrants work out how to do all that by themselves? Or was it suggested to them?

And what should one make of (seemingly) non-existent WMD programmes being scrapped. Was that too about justifying rapprochement?

An investigation is needed to uncover the extent to which this orchestrated campaign to do deals with the people responsible for Lockerbie was a result of public officials in Britain acting in what they felt was the national interest. Bad enough.

Or private corporate concerns able to buy influence over public policy. Seriously awful.

The truth needs to come out if we are to have confidence in UK foreign policy making. It's not just the people who run the LSE who have some serious explaining to do.
