Hello and welcome to my Kumho Solus TA71 review.

It may not happen daily but when it does– like in this instance, Kuhmo really pulls it off. Well, am speaking about the legend that is Kumho solus TA71 tire! Well, if you haven’t met it, this is one of the few tires that impresses on the very first encounter.

And here is why:

Incredible traction, whisper-quiet, and world class comfort on extremely wet conditions are rare occurrences- at least for tires at this price range. I mean, in my many years at the wheel, I haven’t experienced such an accomplished performance on snow. Yes. There have been some attempts from other brands but in comparison with what this surprisingly well-endowed Kumho Solus TA71 tire gives, you feel those were just pretenders to the throne.

For here, finally, we have the master of the mud, deep snow, wet highways and the like.

Who is this tire for?

The majestic Kumho solus TA71 tire is a conquer-it-all, multi-purpose, all-season, and all-terrain tire. Its immense talent and the mindset of a winner put it up there with the best there’s in the market for all-terrain, winter tires. Talk about SUVs-the Chevrolet Blazers, Ford Explorers, Hummer (H2 and H3), Jeep Wrangler and the Toyota Land cruisers of this world.

Add the Chevrolet Silverado, Nissan Pajero, Grand Cherokee, Nissan Titan, and the burly ToyotaTundra….all these popular utilities will thank you if you gift them this potential award-winning tire. But the list of suitors is actually longer:

Because of the way it expertly maintains a steady momentum on and off-road, demanding pickups including Chevrolet Pickup, Dodge/Ram Pickup, and Ford Pickuphave no qualms wedding this skillful tire. In short, this could be a brilliant choice for anyone living in areas which often times experience prolonged snowy conditions and driving SUVs, trucks or one of the top pickups. Let me add that it’s not the most efficient choice for your city car, racing cars, or some commercial trucks.

What terrain is it mostly suited for?

It’s funny but the truth:

This Kumho solus TA71 tire seems to derive much more joy immediately it steps on a slippery lane than when maneuvering any other terrain.

Okay. It does as well as you’d expect any tire at this level on asphalt but make no mistake about it- this is first and foremost the lion of the extremely wet driving courses.

Is that all?

Not at all.

This tire grips roads a lot better, rides much smoother, is super-quiet, and hugely stable.

I know you’re wondering if this is better than its teeming competition…

Well, rated against them- including its sibling, the Road Venture AT, this Kumho solus TA71 tire registers admirable results.

For instance, on masterly of snowy conditions, it’s a perfect 10/10. These top-notch results in the snow and mud are first thanks to the angled chamfer which creates countless gripping edges and secondly due to the deeply entrenched tapered tread block which works nonstop to help the tire self-clean. Moving on to off-road capability, it’s a very good 8/10.

Then on wear and resilience on rough drives, plus finesses on wet interstate highways, the tire records a commendable 7/10.  And this is according to independent tests by the manufacturer himself. Now, let’s shift gears to the experience on dry roads. The tire works hard and returns a more-than-acceptable score of 6/10. Considering what its peers return, these aggressive looking tires should be more than adequate.

Indeed, the fact that it doesn’t go below 6/10 in any of the other tests (noise and comfort included) is quite telling. Can you now see why I’m saying this is a gem? We can’t call it the best of the best as far as winter driving and off roads are concerned but again, it shouldn’t rank far off. The long and (the) short of it being that the impressive Kumho solus TA71 tire is one of the few remarkable on/off-road high-performance tires.

Kumho Solus TA71 Review: What about comfort?

Let’s talk about comfort….or do we say luxury?

Because, in truth, that’s what this cozy riding tire is. It’s, no doubt, supremely engineered for a whisper- quiet, comfy ride, as evidenced by the symmetric tread design plus the variable-pitch tread blocks that expertly absorb vibrations, delivering a near-perfect smooth ride.

Furthermore, it’s not the type that feels bouncy or wild on the road whether on dirt, rocks, mud, gravel, snow, and more. Even if you are going on one of those energy sapping expeditions to the far jungles, you and your passengers feel as if you’re riding on the moon. Not to mention that it maintains a superb posture even when towing heavy. On the same note, the fact that it wears evenly very much helps it to sustain its pleasant ride.

It certainly hits a lot of spots, but is it expensive?

As you can see, this ticks more than a fair share of the right boxes. And it’s something your SUV can be proud to have. So, do you have to break the bank to win it?

This is it:

This Kumho solus TA71 tire tire will set you back anything between $130(smallest) to about $340 (biggest) which is pretty much affordable compared to its higher priced rivals from Michelin and other companies. Better still, it occasionally comes with handsome discounts meaning if lucky, you could end up paying even much less. And just in case the unexpected happens, the accompanying warranty should give you peace of mind.

I’m referring to the Treadlife warranty of either 55,000 miles or a half of this mileage for staggered fitments. You also enjoy a 1-year uniformity warranty. In their totality, all these points to a well-built tire which offers real value for money.

Should I buy it?

This Kumho solus TA71 tire all-terrain master presents a very strong case for consideration by a driver who frequently drives a SUV, a pickup, or a small/medium truck on wet conditions and is often times off-road. We say so because after looking at what its close opposition offers-, it’s hard not to see why this tire has continued to attract such raving reviews from clients.

An outstanding lifespan thanks to the long tread wear, an overall design which gives you an improved fuel efficiency, comfort through and through, and prowess on snowmake this a compelling choice for drivers who are looking for reliability and safety on the wheels.
