Anyone have experience with ACDelco 41-162 spark plugs?

I’m using them on a 2012 GMC Sierra, and I’ve noticed a positive change in fuel efficiency. Highly recommend them for this truck model!

Those sound like solid results! I’ve been tempted to try ACDelco 41-162. Is it really easy to install yourself, or would I need to take it to a shop?

Definitely doable as a DIY! Just make sure you have the right tools and take your time. YouTube has great tutorials as well!

I love the idea of DIY! Just remember, friends: spark plugs are like a relationship – if they’re not firing properly, it’s time to replace them! Haha!

Haha, that’s a great analogy! I’ve been meaning to reflect on my own maintenance routine. Using ACDelco plugs might encourage me to keep my engine better tuned!

I’ve installed ACDelco 41-162 spark plugs in my Chevy, and the process was straightforward. Start by removing the old plugs with a spark plug socket. Make sure to gap the new plugs according to your vehicle’s specs before installation.

That’s great advice! I also recommend using a bit of anti-seize compound on the threads to avoid sticking during future replacements.

Keep in mind to torque the new plugs to the manufacturer’s specifications. Over-tightening can damage the threads in the cylinder head, which can be a major headache!

Absolutely! Also, if you feel resistance when screwing in the new plugs, back off and check for cross-threading. It’s better to do it right the first time!

Common issues can include poor engine performance or misfires if the plugs aren’t installed correctly. Always double-check your work before reassembling everything.

Good point! If you experience rough idling after replacement, you might want to check the ignition coils too.

Has anyone faced difficulty in removing old spark plugs? I’ve read that sometimes they can seize, and it’s a nightmare to extract them.

Yes! I had to use a breaker bar once. Applying some penetrating oil beforehand can really help loosen them up.

Don’t forget to check the spark plug wires too! Worn wires can lead to misfires, even with new plugs. It’s all connected!

Right! And testing the resistance of the wires with a multimeter is a quick way to rule them out as an issue.

Just did a spark plug change, and I felt like a certified mechanic! Anyone else get a little buzz from doing their own car work? Feels rewarding!
