CVT Malfunction Issues in Nissan Rogue - Anyone Else Facing This?

Understanding CVT Malfunctions in Nissan Rogue

I’ve recently been having some serious issues with the continuously variable transmission (CVT) in my Nissan Rogue, and I wanted to open up a discussion on this since I’ve seen plenty of threads mentioning the same problems. If you’re dealing with CVT issues, you’re not alone!

Common Problems to Discuss

  • Warning Lights: Has anyone experienced a constant check engine light or a specific CVT warning light? What did your mechanic say?
  • Operational Failures: My Rogue has been hesitating during acceleration. Is this a common symptom of CVT malfunction?
  • Fluid Leaks: I’ve noticed some fluid underneath my car. Is it possible this is related to the CVT?

Solutions and Advice

  • Temporary Fixes: What have you tried that seemed to help? I’ve heard some people mentioning fluid changes or resets, but I’m not sure.
  • Long-term Solutions: Is it better to replace the CVT entirely, or can it be repaired? Also, how reliable are remanufactured units?

Recalls and Class Actions

  • Updates on Recalls: Have there been any recent recalls for CVT issues in models of Nissan Rogue? I want to make sure I’m not missing out on any significant repairs covered by Nissan.
  • Class Action Settlements: Is anyone aware of any ongoing class action lawsuits regarding CVT failures? I heard there might be some compensation available, which could be helpful.

Let’s share our experiences and advice to help each other out!

I’ll start by detailing what I’ve noticed with my Rogue: I first noticed the hesitation about two months ago, and it seems like it’s worsening. Mechanic mentioned checking the transmission fluid and suggested it could be overheating. What do you all think? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences!

I’ve definitely been having issues with my CVT on my Rogue. Lately, I’ve been hearing some strange whining noises, especially when accelerating. Is that a common sign?

Yes! Those whining noises can be a big indicator. I’ve read that it might signal low fluid levels or even internal damage! Be sure to check the CVT fluid.

Another sign to watch for is irregular acceleration. Sometimes my Rogue just feels like it’s hesitating or slipping during take-off. Has anyone else experienced that?

Absolutely! I’ve felt that too. It’s alarming because you’re not sure if you need to pull over or just push through. Definitely indicates a CVT issue.

Has anyone encountered sudden drops in power when trying to accelerate? It’s like my Rogue suddenly loses its strength. Not a fun ride, to say the least.

Yes! I’ve had that happen. It’s unnerving, especially when you’re trying to merge into traffic. Might be a good idea to have a CVT diagnostic done.

I guess what I’m most worried about is the cost of repairs if the CVT goes! Seems like it’s a pricey fix. Anyone know if Nissan offers any recalls or assistance for these issues?

It’s definitely a concern, RVilla. I heard some users got help from Nissan, but it seems to vary. Maybe we should all report our issues to make it a bigger concern?

I’m more concerned about the reliability of the CVT system itself. Why hasn’t Nissan fixed these longstanding issues?

That’s a good question, Richard! They definitely need to step up. Maybe they’re just hoping we won’t notice until it’s too late?

I can relate to all this! But sometimes, I wonder if the CVT has quirks that can be amusing. Like, my Rogue seems to change gears at the weirdest times, almost like it’s playing games with me!

Haha, that’s true, lisa! My Rogue has also decided to turn into a race car when I’m just cruising. CVT drama for sure! But I’d rather have reliability over laughs any day.

After my CVT started acting up, I had a serious think about reliability. I just hope others can identify the signs before it turns costly.

That’s the key, Yvonne! The sooner we act on these signs, the lower the risk of expensive repairs down the line. Let’s all keep sharing our experiences!

I’ve definitely experienced CVT issues with my Rogue. It started with strange shuddering while accelerating. Anyone know what diagnostic tools I should use?

You can start by checking for error codes using an OBD-II scanner. It’s an excellent first step to pinpoint the problem!

I’ve had a similar issue. Using the OBD-II scanner revealed a P0744 error code, indicating an issue with the torque converter. Might want to explore that.

Good call! I actually ignored my error codes for too long. They’re a goldmine for troubleshooting!

Does anyone know the meaning of the P0730 code? I got it recently, and I’m worried it might be related to my CVT issues.
