Looking for Good Tires for My Ford F-150—Recommendations Needed!

When I switched from 285 to 275 on my F-150, the handling got a bit better, but the fuel efficiency stayed about the same.

That’s interesting, @sarah40. I’ve heard that wider tires can indeed affect fuel efficiency, but they give a beefier look. It’s always a trade-off, I suppose.

What tire brands are you considering? I’ve always had good luck with Michelin for durability, but I’ve seen people rave about Goodyear too.

Great suggestions! I’ve had both brands, and while I prefer Michelin, Goodyear has some great all-terrain options too.

How do different tread patterns affect performance? I’m pondering designs for off-roading vs. highway driving.

Tread patterns really change the game! Aggressive treads work well off-road but can be noisy on highways. Consider your primary driving style.

I’ve seen some F-150s with oversized tires. They look amazing, but do they really affect fuel mileage that much?

Yes, increasing tire size can affect your mileage. Typically, you might lose 1-2 mpg depending on how big you go.

On the bright side, larger tires can give you better ground clearance! So if that’s what you need, it might be worth the trade-off.

I think aesthetics play a big role too. It’s all about how you customize your truck, right?

Exactly! It’s part of the fun of owning an F-150. But don’t forget the practical side too!

I recently put on a set of Michelin LTX M/S2 tires on my F-150. They’re fantastic for all-weather conditions and have held up very well after 20,000 miles. I highly recommend them for durability and grip.

I’ve had great luck with the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires. They provide excellent traction off-road and last a long time! Just remember, they can be a bit noisy on the highway.

I’ve been using Continental TerrainContact A/T tires for a while now. They are really quiet on the road and perform well in light off-roading. I’d say they’re a good balance of price and performance.

That’s good to hear! I was considering those for my truck. How are they in wet conditions?

The Continentals handle pretty well in the rain. Just make sure you keep them properly inflated, and you’ll be fine! I had a friend who had an issue because of neglect.

I’m currently using Hankook Dynapro AT2 tires. They’re very affordable and offer solid off-road performance, but I’ve noticed some wear after about 15,000 miles. Worth considering if you’re watching your budget.

Good tip! I’ll check those out. What’s the price range like for those?

You can typically find them around $150 each, which is decent for an all-terrain tire. Just keep in mind you may sacrifice some longevity.

I’ve always loved my Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 3s! They have incredible grip in both wet and dry conditions and last a long time. Just a little pricier than others but well worth it!
