Looking for Opinions on General GMAX AS-05 Tires!

That’s a fair point, but I think they’re marketed more as touring tires. If you’re looking for hardcore off-road, maybe look elsewhere.

Has anyone regrooved these tires? I wonder how that affects their lifespan and performance. Hearing mixed reviews about it.

Regrooving seems risky! I’ve never tried it, but I think sticking with normal wear is safer for maintaining grip.

I appreciate their grip and stability, especially in wet conditions, which helps me feel more secure on the road. Definitely worth the investment!

I feel satisfied overall, though I wished they’d come in more colors! A fun design with some flair could really boost their appeal.

Haha, I’d love to see rainbow tires, tonya56! But seriously, a little color could add to the aesthetics without compromising function.

Funny thought, but it’s like they say, ‘Don’t judge a tire by its color.’ Performance is key! Wouldn’t trade mine for anything else right now.

I’ve been using General GMAX AS-05 tires for about a year now, and I love their performance in both wet and dry conditions. Great value for the price!

That’s awesome to hear! How do they compare to other tires like the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4?

I’ve had the chance to try the AS-05 and the Michelin Pilot Sport AS4 side by side, and the GMAX holds up pretty well, especially in the price department. I’ve felt the ride comfort and tread wear are quite commendable!

That’s interesting! I find that the Michelin tends to last longer for more spirited driving, but if you’re looking for a solid all-around option, GMAX is great.

I have a friend who swears by GMAX tires for everyday driving. The tread design seems excellent for noise reduction too, something to consider!

That’s definitely a plus! How would you say they handle in heavy rain or snow, though?

In my experience, the GMAX AS-05 performs decently in rain. Snow is a different story; it’s not a dedicated winter tire, so tread carefully! For winter performance, I’d recommend something like the Bridgestone Blizzak.

I appreciate the advice! What are your thoughts on the overall handling of the GMAX AS-05 compared to the Blizzak during the summer?

Handling on the AS-05 is surprisingly responsive, especially for an all-season tire. If you want handling, the GMAX is a great choice, but stick with the Blizzak for winter.

That sounds promising! What about the pricing? How does it stack up against models like the Continental TrueContact?

GMAX AS-05 tires are usually a bit cheaper than the Continental TrueContact and offer great value for performance. It’s a win-win situation if you’re on a budget!

I like that! Are there any trade-offs in terms of warranty or mileage expectations compared to other brands?

The warranty on GMAX tires is similar to others, usually around 40,000 miles, which is reasonable. Overall, they are good for the price!
