I’ve used Eaton in the past and was really pleased with the performance. They’re quite durable, too!

What’s the best gear ratio for a Dana 60? I’m considering 4.10 for more torque but unsure if that’s the sweet spot.

If you’re looking for a balance between torque and highway speed, 4.10 is popular. It really depends on your usage though.

I’ve had my share of Dana 60 issues. Noise often comes from improper gear setup or worn bearings. Make sure to check the pinion preload to avoid unnecessary wear.

That’s great advice, johnallen! I also experienced a grinding noise when cornering, which turned out to be a worn axle. Definitely check that too!

I had a leak near the differential cover. Using a new gasket fixed it right up! Also, don’t forget to torque those bolts properly.

Right on! I resealed my cover but still had a slow leak. I found it was coming from the axle seals. Inspect those regularly.
