I think so! My 2008 Highlander had completely different programming steps. Maybe having a model-specific guide would help a lot.

I recently set up the garage door opener with my Toyota Highlander, and I found that it works best with LiftMaster and Chamberlain systems. They’re known to be reliable and compatible with the vehicle’s openers!

Honestly, I’m just amazed my Highlander can connect at all! I have a pretty old garage door system, and so far, it’s been working without issues. Excited for tech!

To add a bit of contention, I tried using a different brand once, and it completely failed. You get what you pay for, I guess! Go for the trusted brands!
