What Do You Think About the C6 Corvette Years?

With all these issues, can we collectively agree that the C6 is still an iconic car? Just a few quirks here and there! Plus, the performance is incredible!

Definitely! But what about the brake issues in the early C6 years? I read about quite a few recalls on that.

Yeah, the brakes were a problem. My 2007 had a recall for a brake issue. It was handled quickly by the dealer, but still a hassle. It’s good to stay informed!

At least they were proactive with the recalls! My C6’s engine has been solid. Just regular maintenance. Anyone had any major repairs?

Just the usual wear and tear here. Nothing major yet, just a couple of belts replaced. Fingers crossed it stays that way!

I’m just here for the ride! The sound of that V8 is music! But, I gotta say, the gas mileage is less than stellar. Anyone else feel the pinch at the pump?

Haha, yes! I’ve dubbed my C6 the ‘money pit’! Worth every penny, though. Who can resist that power?

True! Each drive feels special. But, on a serious note, I’ve been thinking about upgrading to a C7. Do you guys think it’s worth it?

Depends on what you’re looking for! C7 offers great tech upgrades, but the C6 has that classic charm.

The C6 Corvette years have shown fascinating market trends, especially with the pricing history. Initially, they were pretty robust, but depreciation has hit some trim levels quite hard. It’s interesting to see how the market reacts to performance and technology changes.

I completely agree! The earlier years (2005-2008) seem to have held value better than the later models. Do you think the Z06 has really influenced desirability among collectors?

Absolutely, jennifersexton! The Z06’s performance threshold has set a standard that many enthusiasts aspire to. Plus, the introduction of the Grand Sport trim also created significant interest in the market.

The market has also been influenced by the overall economy. During economic downturns, luxury sports cars like the C6 generally see steeper depreciation. Anyone have thoughts on how that might play out in the current market?

It’s a good observation! The trend seems to indicate that as the economy improves, these cars become more desirable again. But, will the EV transition affect their future values?

That’s a great point, brendahernandez. While the EV transition is in full swing, I think the emotional connection to V8 engines will keep the C6 Corvette in demand for collectors. It’s tough to shake off that rumble!

The value retention on the C6 really makes me reflective. I sometimes wonder if the aftermarket modding scene has had a significant impact on the prices and desirability. Anyone else feel like mods play a role?

For sure! Modified C6s can either be a red flag or a badge of honor. It’s a rollercoaster deciding to mod or keep stock.

Great question, nkhan! I’ve noticed that pristine models do seem to keep higher value. There’s definitely a collectability factor based on condition, for sure.

I wonder if inflation impacts collector perceptions as well. As prices rise for all cars, do buyers reconsider what they’re willing to pay for a C6, especially for pristine models?

Reflecting on the C6 years reminds me of the special editions like the 427. Those seemed to have shot up in value! Does anyone think they will continue to rise or stabilize?
