I usually find ethanol-free gas at local marinas or airport FBOs. They often sell high-octane fuels.
That’s a good point! I’ve never thought about checking airports. I’ll have to look there too!
Ethanol-free fuel can be hit or miss at regular gas stations. Check out Pure Gas’s website; they maintain a list of stations that offer it.
Pure Gas has helped me out multiple times. Do they list prices as well or just locations?
I believe it’s mostly just locations on Pure Gas. However, I also recommend joining local Facebook groups; you can get real-time tips from others!
That’s a fantastic idea! Community knowledge can be much more reliable than an app sometimes.
Remember to ask stations directly if they carry 93 octane ethanol-free! Some may not list it online.
Good tip! I’ve encountered places that don’t advertise ethnol-free but have it. Always worth checking!
I’m still on the fence about switching! Is there a notable difference in performance if you switch to 93 octane ethanol-free?
The difference can be noticeable, especially in older engines or performance cars. You might get better mileage and less buildup in the engine!
That sounds promising! I’m looking for anything that helps with performance.
Just remember, prices for ethanol-free can be higher. Worth it for performance though, in my opinion.
I’ve noticed that too! But if it’s better for my car, I’d consider the extra cost.
Let’s just hope our cars start appreciating the value of our investments. Ha!
I’ve been using 93 octane ethanol-free fuel in my BMW M3 for the past year, and I have definitely noticed improved throttle response and smoother acceleration. Totally worth it for performance enthusiasts!
That’s awesome, michael94! I drive a Jeep Wrangler and I noticed a huge difference in fuel efficiency since switching. It feels more powerful on off-road trips!
I don’t drive a high-performance car, just a standard Toyota Camry, but I switched to 93 octane ethanol-free on recommendation. There’s a slight improvement in engine noise and overall smoothness.
Had similar results with my Mazda Miata! Quicker acceleration and the engine just runs smoother. Makes me wonder if every car would benefit the same way.
Great to hear! Is it worth the extra cost for a daily driver though? That’s what I’m curious about.
I believe so, rvilla! For me, the performance upgrade has justified the price. My Subie has never run better. Though, it’s definitely a little more at the pump!
