Any thoughts on a used Toyota 4Runner with sunroof?

Considering a Used Toyota 4Runner

I’m in the market for a used Toyota 4Runner that comes with a sunroof and I could really use some feedback from others who might have experience with this model. I’ve seen quite a few listings on sites like CarMax and Carvana, but I want to know more than just the specs.

Things I’m Curious About:

  • Sunroof Functionality: Is it reliable? Are there any common issues?
  • Desirability: Does having a sunroof make the vehicle more appealing?
  • Overall Experience: For those of you who own or have owned a 4Runner, how has it been in terms of comfort and features?

Specific Questions:

  • Have any of you noticed any significant drawbacks with the sunroof?
  • Is it worth the extra cost to have a sunroof?
  • Any recommendations on what to look for when buying used?

I appreciate any insights you can share! Looking forward to your responses.

I’ve owned a 4Runner with a panoramic sunroof for about three years now. It’s amazing how it enhances the cabin feel, especially during road trips. The dual-functionality is great; you can tilt it for just a bit of air or fully open it for that immersive experience!

Absolutely! I love how the sunroof adds a sense of openness. It’s especially nice during summer drives. Plus, it makes the interior look so much brighter!

I have a standard sunroof, and while I love it, I wish it was a bit larger like the panoramic option. I think it would have made a big difference in how airy the cabin feels.

That’s interesting, bjones! The standard sunroof is nice and all, but have you considered the ease of cleaning and maintenance with a larger sunroof? It might be a trade-off.

I didn’t realize how much fun sunroofs could be until I got my 4Runner. Whether it’s a quick tilt or enjoying the breeze on a sunny day, it really enhances the driving experience. Makes me feel like I’m on an adventure every time I step in!

I agree with justin31! Each drive feels like an adventure. However, does anyone find it annoying that the controls can be a bit tricky at times? Sometimes it doesn’t respond as quickly as I’d like.

I’ve had my challenges with the controls too, but once you get used to them, it’s smooth sailing! Just gotta give it a little extra push sometimes. Anyone else notice quirks like that?

For me, having a sunroof is a must! I can’t imagine driving my 4Runner without one. But I guess some might say it’s just a ‘nice-to-have.’ What do you all think?

I think it’s definitely more than just a ‘nice-to-have.’ A sunroof adds character to the car. It’s also great for stargazing at night!

I’m getting a kick out of these comments! I never thought a sunroof could inspire such passion. Haha! But honestly, how many of us would pay extra just to have one?

I’d definitely pay a bit more! The joy of driving with the sunroof open is worth it to me. Makes every trip more enjoyable.

I think the sunroof adds a nice element of openness to the 4Runner, making it feel more spacious. Just be mindful of potential wind noise at higher speeds.

Absolutely! The air circulation is great when driving in warmer weather, but just remember it might amplify some outside noise.

I love having a sunroof in my 4Runner! It does seem to help with temperature control. Just watch out for the glare on sunny days.

Good points on glare! Sometimes I wish I had a portable sunshade for those really bright days while driving.

You could always try a pair of polarized sunglasses! They really help reduce glare while driving.

I’ve noticed that having the sunroof open can impact how quickly the interior cools down when parked in the sun. Worth considering if you live in a hot climate!

That’s true! Plus, wind noise can get loud if you have it ajar at highway speeds.

I’d be curious to know if anyone has experienced leaks with their sunroof. That would really sour the experience for me.
