I’m in a bit of a bind and need help finding the GM roadside assistance phone number. Just had my car break down and I’m not sure how to contact them. If anyone has the number or any tips on what I should do after a breakdown, that would be super helpful!
Things I’ve Tried:
Checked my vehicle manual
Looked online but didn’t find the right number
What I Need:
The direct phone number for GM roadside assistance.
Any advice on what steps to take while I wait for help.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
The GM roadside assistance number is 1-800-462-8782. It’s best to have your VIN and location ready when you call. They’ll want to know what issue you’re facing too!
I used it last summer. They were pretty quick—around 30 minutes! Just make sure you have your account info handy too.
Thanks for the info! Have you ever needed to use it? What’s the wait time like generally?

Sounds like a solid experience! Do they directly connect you to a service provider, or do you have to wait for a dispatcher?
You talk to a dispatcher first, they gather info and dispatch help. It’s pretty straightforward! Nothing too stressful.
Good to know! Do they have a specific truck or service they recommend, or is it usually a random towing company?

They generally have contracts with specific providers in each area; that way they can keep track of service quality.

Just to add, always stay with your vehicle if it’s safe! They’ll guide you through the process once help arrives.

Should I also have my mother’s maiden name just in case?

Haha, not quite! Just your account info should do. But it wouldn’t hurt to be overly prepared!
It’s actually a good reminder—keeping info organized can save time and frustration later. I’ve got a dedicated note on my phone now!
I believe the GM roadside assistance number is 1-800-462-8782. I had to call them once when my car broke down, and they were pretty helpful!

That’s the number! I had a delay when I called them last year. They took forever to get someone out. Has anyone else experienced this?
I did face a similar situation. Delays were frustrating, but I found that being polite and giving them specific details helped speed things along.

Delays were frustrating…
That’s true! I had a miscommunication once where they sent the wrong type of help. Waiting for a tow truck instead of a jump start was annoying!
Oh no, that sounds frustrating! I had them mix up my location once too. But they fixed it quickly when I called back. Just keep confirming details!

Glad you had a good outcome! My friend had a nightmare experience with a long wait and incorrect info. She ended up calling a local service instead!

I think many face delays. Always good to have a backup plan! I now keep a local tow service’s number handy just in case.
Absolutely! I’ve learned my lesson! Now, I always check the ETA after calling. Sometimes they underestimate the time.
