Looking for Feedback on the 2021 TRD Pro 4Runner – What Do You Think?

I’m really interested in the 2021 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro, and I would love to get some feedback from anyone who has experience with this model. Here are a few things I’m hoping to learn more about:

Performance

  • How does it handle on both pavement and off-road? Any notable differences in suspension performance?
  • What are your thoughts on the exhaust system? Does it enhance the driving experience?

Features

  • I’ve heard mixed reviews about the interior features. Are there any standout tech features that you love or hate?
  • Can anyone share insights on the infotainment system? Is it user-friendly?

Comparisons

  • For anyone coming from a different SUV, how does the 2021 TRD Pro stack up? What made you choose it?

Purchase Experiences

  • Is it worth paying a bit more for the new model or should I consider a used one? Any tips on what to look for?

Mods and Accessories

  • Are there any modifications you’ve done that you’d recommend? How have they impacted performance or aesthetics?

I’m eager to hear your personal experiences or any reviews you may have come across. Thanks in advance!

I recently took my 2021 TRD Pro 4Runner on a weekend trip to Moab, and it handled the rocky trails like a champ! The crawl control feature is a game changer for steep inclines.

I totally agree! I took mine through some muddy terrain and it handled perfectly. No issues with traction or getting stuck.

I love the look of the 2021 TRD Pro! Has anyone tried it in sand dunes? I’m curious about how it performs on softer terrain.

I took mine to the Glamis Dunes and it was fantastic! Just needed to air down the tires a bit, and it was smooth sailing.

After multiple off-road adventures, I’d say the suspension is the star. It absorbs bumps really well on rough trails!

Does anyone else think the stock tires could be improved? I love my 4Runner, but they don’t perform super well in muddy conditions.

I agree! I swapped out my tires for all-terrains and noticed a significant difference in grip, especially in the wet.

I found the camping setup really practical when we went to the mountains. Could easily fit all our gear without worrying about space!

That’s awesome! We loaded up for a weekend at Big Sur and it was packed without feeling cramped. Definitely a solid adventure vehicle.

Has anyone had issues with the adaptive suspension? Mine seems to be a little inconsistent on bumpy trails.

I’ve had a few bumps, but nothing too concerning. It could vary from vehicle to vehicle, I guess.

Overall, I’m loving my 4Runner but I sometimes wish the engine had a bit more power for steep climbs!

Same here! It gets a bit sluggish on steep grades compared to some competitors. But the build quality makes up for it!

The interior of the 2021 TRD Pro 4Runner feels rugged yet refined. The materials used are durable, which is great for off-road use, but I wish the overall design was a bit more modern.

That’s a good point! I’ve noticed that while it’s tough, some might find the aesthetics a bit dated compared to other SUVs.

Comfort-wise, the seating is excellent for longer drives. I often take long trips, and the seats are supportive without being too stiff.

I completely agree! Plus, I love the heated seats feature—perfect for those chilly mornings on the road.

The infotainment system is decent but can be a bit clunky at times. I find myself wishing for quicker response times.

Totally! The layout is functional, but a more intuitive interface would be a nice upgrade for the 2021 model.
