Looking for Recommendations on North Shepherd Salvage Yards

I’m on the hunt for some automotive parts and services, specifically from salvage yards located on North Shepherd in Houston. I’ve heard there are a few notable ones in the area that might have what I’m looking for.

Here’s what I’m hoping to find:

  • Used auto parts: Anything from engines to body parts.
  • Salvaged vehicles: Looking for a project car or parts cars.
  • Services: Do any of these places offer additional services like installation or sales of specific parts?

If anyone has had experiences with these salvage yards, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Which ones do you recommend, and why? Any tips on what to look out for when visiting these places would also be super helpful!

Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide!

I’m looking for salvage yards in the North Shepherd area too! If anyone has recommendations, I’d love to hear about your experiences.

You should check out Northside Salvage! I found a lot of rare parts there and the staff is super helpful.

I’ve been to Northside Salvage as well, and I agree! Their prices are decent, and I appreciated how organized their inventory was.

Has anyone been to A1 Salvage? I’m curious about their selection and prices. Would love to hear some reviews.

I visited A1 Salvage last month. They had a good selection of older model parts but a bit pricey. Still worth a look!

I second that! A1 can be a little high, but the quality of their parts is often better than others around here.

What about any hidden gems? I’m looking for specifics beyond the big names like Northside or A1.

There’s a small yard called Jack’s Salvage on 45th street that is a treasure trove for hard-to-find items! Totally underrated.

I’ve never heard of Jack’s! I’ll definitely check it out. Thanks for the tip!

Just remember, Jack’s Salvage is like a scavenger hunt; you might find something great, or you might just leave scratching your head!

I find North Shepherd Salvage Yard to be quite extensive. A good strategy is to check their online inventory first, if available. It saves time and helps you know what you’re targeting.

Absolutely! Also, don’t forget to bring a flashlight and gloves. You’ll often be crawling around under stuff. It makes a huge difference!

I’ve heard some people recommend going on weekends. There is usually a larger selection then. It’s lively too, with more folks around to ask for advice!

Weekends do have a buzz! But, do note that it can get crowded. Bring patience along with your tools!

When I go, I make a list of specific parts I need. It helps to stay focused. Plus, you can network with others who might have leads on rare finds.

A buddy of mine swears by chatting with the staff. They often know what’s coming in and can lead you to the right section faster. It’s like having an insider on your side!

That’s a great tip! And if you notice employees working on something cool, feel free to ask about it. They love sharing stories!

Does anyone have any specifics on negotiating prices? I’ve heard some people get parts much cheaper than listed. Any tips?

I’ve found it also depends on how friendly you are! Being genuine can sometimes lower the price.
