What’s the Best Year for Toyota Sequoia?

I’m looking to gather insights and experiences from fellow Toyota Sequoia enthusiasts about which model year stands out as the best.

Here are a few points I’m curious about:

  • Performance: Which years are known for the best engine performance and handling?
  • Reliability: Are there specific years that have consistently received high marks for reliability?
  • Features: What year introduced the most desirable features or tech?
  • Owner Satisfaction: Which years do owners rave about the most in forums or reviews?

If you own a Sequoia or have done some research, please share your thoughts. Any expert comparisons or personal insights would be greatly appreciated. Let’s see which years are truly the cream of the crop for this SUV!

I think the 2016 Sequoia is one of the best! It has a powerful V8 engine and a great towing capacity. The interior is really spacious too.

I second that! The 2017 model has similar features but with upgraded tech. Definitely worth considering for a newer model.

Anyone have thoughts on the earlier models? I’ve heard they’re more reliable but lack some of the modern features.

The 2012 model is quite solid in terms of reliability! It may not have all the new tech, but it drives smoothly and is durable.

I drove a 2014 Sequoia and found it very comfortable. It has a lot of cargo space and love the DVD entertainment system for the kids!

Reliability is key! Some say the 2015 model has better handling. Anyone experienced that?

Actually, I had a 2015 and did notice it felt more responsive when driving. Plus, the safety features are really impressive!

That’s true! I love the rearview camera and collision detection on newer models. Makes driving a breeze.

What about fuel efficiency? I hear some years are better than others for gas mileage.

Great point! The 2018 model has some improvements, but you’re still looking at a truck that loves its gas!

I can’t believe how pricey these things get! Are they really worth the investment? Especially the 2020 model!

You bet! The 2020 Sequoia is loaded with features and tech, but sometimes I wonder if I’d actually use them all. It’s like buying a spaceship! :joy:

Even with the price, they’re built to last. Reflecting on how long Sequoias can serve you, I’d say it’s a decent investment if you pick the right year.

The best year? Tough to say! Every potential owner has their own needs. Maybe a comparison chart could help us out?

I have a 2014 Sequoia and absolutely love it! The spacious interior and reliability make it a fantastic family vehicle. I’ve faced some minor issues, but nothing too serious. Highly recommend this model year.

I agree, the 2014 is solid! I had a 2010 model before it, and while it was good, the interior wasn’t as nice. The newer models definitely feel upgraded.

The 2008 model is still one of my favorites! The V8 engine is powerful, and it’s great for towing. I’ve taken it on road trips and it handled beautifully. Just no fancy tech though, which might be a downside for some.

That’s true! My 2016 version has all the bells and whistles, but I did hear that tech can be a trouble point for newer versions. Anyone had issues with that?

I’ve found the tech on my 2017 Sequoia to be hit or miss. Sometimes it’s great, but it can be slow reacting. However, the overall performance is fantastic! It’s a smooth ride.
