Hey folks,

I’m considering snagging a 2008 Smart Fortwo Passion Cabriolet, and I’d love to get some feedback or reviews from anyone who’s had experience with it. Here are some things I’m particularly curious about:

General Impressions

  • How does it handle in city driving?
  • Is the convertible feature really worth it?

Specifications & Performance

  • What’s the fuel efficiency like?
  • Any mechanical issues to look out for?
  • How’s the performance compared to similar small cars?

Practicality

I’ve had my 2008 Smart Fortwo Passion Cabriolet for a year now, and the urban driving experience is fantastic! The acceleration is modest, but it’s perfect for zipping through city traffic. I love how easily it maneuvers around tight corners.

Totally agree! I find it really quick off the line, especially in start-stop traffic. It’s surprisingly fun to drive!

Great point! I almost got blown off course once. It’ll keep you on your toes, but overall, it’s a hoot to drive around town!

The handling is what sets this car apart in a congested city. I can dart between cars with ease. Just be careful in windy conditions because it can be a bit affected by strong gusts.

Can it fit into small parking spots? That’s a huge benefit of the Smart. I’ve parked it in spots where no one else can go!

Absolutely! I’ve squeezed it into some impossibly tight spaces and it’s saved me a ton of time finding parking.

The overall performance in urban areas is commendable, especially for short commutes. However, on the highway, it struggles a bit with speed and power compared to larger cars.

I mainly use mine for city driving and love it for short trips. Anything over 30 minutes feels less comfortable. Definitely a city car!

Yeah, I wouldn’t want to take it on a long road trip. It’s designed for city living, and it does that wonderfully.

Is it just me, or does anyone else enjoy the attention? It definitely turns heads with that unique design!

Right? I’ve had plenty of fun conversations at stoplights because people are curious about it.

While it’s not the fastest car around, it does pack a punch for its size. Just don’t expect muscle car performance!

Exactly! It’s more about the experience and the thrill of driving something so unique in the city context.

I’ve found it to be a perfect companion for my daily commute. The fuel efficiency in the city is also a big plus!

I’ve had my 2008 Smart Fortwo Passion Cabriolet for a few years now, and I absolutely love the interior! The seats are surprisingly comfortable, and the dashboard layout is very user-friendly.

The sound system isn’t top-notch, but for a small car, it does the job! I mostly listen to podcasts, so it suits my needs. The usability of the interior is pretty simple, which I appreciate.

That’s great to hear! The seating comfort really surprised me too, especially for a compact car. How do you find the sound system? Is it decent for everyday use?

Sounds practical! I’m curious if it feels cramped at all when you’re driving. Any issues with space for a taller passenger?

I’m 6’2" and fit fine, though the legroom can get tight if the front seat is pushed all the way back. Otherwise, it feels cozy rather than cramped! It’s quite a fun ride.
