True! I installed them on my Ford Explorer, and thankfully, it was seamless. Just be aware of that before purchasing.

Overall, the Z36 brakes are great for towing! I put them on my F-150, and they have held up well even in heavy loads.

That’s awesome! I might consider them for my towing setup. Any special tools needed for installation?

I found a torque wrench really useful for this job. It ensures everything is secured properly after installation. Don’t underestimate that aspect!

Good tip! I’ve had issues in the past where things weren’t tightened enough. Any advice for unexpected challenges?

Be prepared for rusted bolts, especially if you live in an area with lots of road salt! It can add time to your project if you encounter that.

Yikes! Sounds frustrating. I hope my installation goes smoother.

It’s a breeze if you have a little mechanical knowledge. If you are a newbie, watch some YouTube videos beforehand; they can really help!

That’s a solid suggestion! Learning from others’ experiences can save a ton of hassle.

I wonder if anyone had issues with the brake dust? I’ve heard mixed things about how clean the Z36s keep your wheels.

I noticed some dust but it’s not excessive. Just regular wheel cleaning does the trick.

Brakes are critical safety components, so always double-check your work! I had a friend who skipped a step and regretted it!

[quote=“hjones, post:15, topic:2959”]Always double-check your work![/.quote]That’s wise advice! It pays to be meticulous, especially when it comes to brakes.

I’ve been using Power Stop Z36 brakes for about a year now, and I can say the durability is impressive! I drive a truck and do a lot of heavy stopping, but they show minimal wear compared to OEM brakes.

That sounds great! I’ve heard mixed reviews on wear rates. Do you have any specific numbers on how much you’ve seen them wear down?

I’ve driven with Z36s for about six months, mostly city driving. They’ve held up well, but I did notice some slight fading after prolonged braking sessions. Still better than stock!

Interesting! How do you think that compares to your OEM brakes in terms of performance?

From what I’ve researched, Z36s tend to outperform OEM in both stopping distance and durability, especially in heavier use cases. Sounds like both of you support that!

I actually had a set of Z36s last me over two years with weekend racing; that said, proper maintenance makes a HUGE difference in their lifespan. Totally worth the investment!

That’s impressive mileage! Did you need to replace anything else besides the pads? Any upgrade advice?
