What’s the mileage like on a 2013 Honda CR-V?

I’m really curious about the fuel efficiency of the 2013 Honda CR-V. I’ve been considering picking one up, but I’ve heard mixed reviews about its mileage.

Here are some specific things I’m wondering about:

  • What’s the Average MPG?
I know the official figures say it gets about 23 city and 31 highway, but what’s the real-world experience?
  • How does it compare to other SUVs?
If anyone has had the chance to compare it with other models in the same class, how does it stack up?
  • Any common issues affecting mileage?
Are there any maintenance tips or issues I should know about that might impact its fuel economy?

I’d appreciate any feedback or personal experiences you can share. Thanks!

I’ve had my 2013 Honda CR-V for about five years now, and I typically get around 27 mpg in mixed driving. On the highway, I’ve seen up to 30 mpg.

That’s great mileage, teresacastro! I usually get around 25 mpg in the city, but I drive pretty aggressively. Highway driving gives me about 28 mpg.

My experience has been around that too. I often drive on rural roads, and I manage around 29 mpg. The mileage can really vary based on where you drive.

It’s funny how driving style makes such a difference. I can’t help but wonder how much more I could save if I relaxed a bit while driving!

I’m also curious about how the mileage holds up in colder climates. Anyone experienced a drop in mpg when it’s cold outside?

Definitely! During winter, my mileage drops to about 23 mpg in city driving. Cold weather really takes a toll on fuel efficiency.

That sounds tough, gallowaykeith. Have you tried using any fuel additives during winter months?

I haven’t tried any yet, but I may look into it. I’m really hoping Spring brings some better miles!

Compared to others, my 2013 CR-V is a bit of a gas guzzler. I max out at 24 mpg, but that’s mostly my fault since I do a lot of stop-and-go driving.

There’s no shame in that, jdudley! It’s all about what you’re comfortable with and how you drive! Which trim do you have?

I have the EX-L trim. Maybe that’s part of the issue? But I do enjoy all the extra features.

Funny enough, my base model averages about 26 mpg. I guess it’s all about that balance between features and efficiency.

I love how we all get different results! Makes me appreciate each vehicle’s uniqueness. Any maintenance tips for keeping mileage up?

Regular oil changes and tire pressure checks make a huge difference! I learned that the hard way when my tires were low.

I’ve had my 2013 Honda CR-V for about five years now. I average around 26 MPG combined, which I find quite decent for an SUV in its class. It’s definitely more efficient than some midsize SUVs like the Ford Explorer.

That’s impressive mileage! I’ve been considering it compared to the Subaru Forester. It seems like the CR-V is better on gas, right?

Definitely! The CR-V tends to outperform the Forester by about 2 MPG in combined city/highway driving. It’s a solid choice for fuel efficiency.

I completely agree! The CR-V also provides a smooth ride, which adds to its overall performance. How does it handle on highways?

I’ve taken mine on several road trips, and it handles just fine at high speeds. It feels stable, and I appreciate the fuel savings over long distances.
