I’ve been looking into upgrading the tail lights on my C5 Corvette and I’m overwhelmed by the options available. I’m curious about different aftermarket choices and what would best enhance the look of my car while also being functional. Here are some questions I have:
What are the best aftermarket tail lights available for the C5? I’ve seen some LED options that look great, but are there any specific brands or models that you recommend?
Installation Tips: If anyone has experience installing their own tail lights, I would love to hear any tips or tricks to make the process easier.
Legal Specs: Are there any specifications or regulations I need to keep in mind when replacing the tail lights? I don’t want to run into any issues down the road.
Any advice or experiences you can share would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Yes, you’ll find that Spec-D lights are usually cheaper than Morimoto. But in this case, you get what you pay for. Morimoto is definitely the premium option.
I had issues with my C5 Corvette tail lights and found that corrosion on connectors was a common problem. Cleaning them with electrical contact cleaner helped a lot!
Another thing to watch for is the tail light circuit board. They can develop cracks over time which lead to faulty connections. If it looks damaged, consider replacing it.
Make sure you’re using the correct bulb types. Overheating bulbs can also cause problems, and using the wrong one will lead to more issues down the line.
