I’m considering getting a 2018 Ford Raptor, but I’m really curious about its fuel efficiency in everyday driving, especially compared to my current truck. The official ratings seem decent, but I’m looking for real-world experiences from those who own this beast.
Points I’m Curious About:
Average MPG: What kind of fuel economy are you getting? Highway vs city?
Driving Conditions: Do you mostly drive on highways, in traffic, or off-road? How does that impact MPG?
Comparison with Other Trucks: If you’ve owned or driven other trucks, how does the Raptor stack up in terms of fuel efficiency?
Any Tips: Any tips on how to maximize MPG with this truck?
I appreciate any insights you can share – every detail helps!
I’ve had my 2018 Raptor for about a year now. On the highway, I get around 18 MPG, but that drops to about 14 MPG in heavy traffic. Off-roading really hits it hard, sometimes as low as 10 MPG.
I’ve heard that highway conditions can really make a difference! I’ve kept mine mostly on the freeway and managed to get 19 MPG. It’s a beast for sure!
I usually get about 15 MPG off-road, depending on the terrain. That said, if you’re in mud or really rough spots, it can go lower as acontreras pointed out.
The 2018 Ford Raptor averages around 15-18 MPG, depending on driving conditions. It’s not the most fuel-efficient truck out there, but it’s designed for performance! Compared to the Chevy Silverado, which can reach up to 22 MPG, it falls a bit short.
True! The Raptor is definitely more about off-roading performance. Other trucks like the Toyota Tundra have lower MPG, about 13-15, so it’s not as bad comparatively. But it’s good to know what you’re signing up for when choosing.
I’m a Raptor owner, and I usually get around 17 MPG on the highway. I think the driving style really affects fuel efficiency too. Heavy foot? Forget good MPG.
