It sounds silly, I know, but it really helps the Blizzak stay on top of everything you encounter. Interestingly, when the NanoPro Tech Multicell is worn-out, the tire uses a regular winter compound. That said, 55% of the tread is made of NanoPro Tech, which means that this won’t happen very soon.

Kumho continues to surprise with its lineup of tires, this time with the Road Venture APT KL51. Designed to offer excellent traction throughout the year, this all-season rated tire also achieves comfort levels that are comparable to premium highway tires. The biggest advantage of the Kumho Road Venture APT KL51 is that it’s much cheaper than its premium competition, despite offering excellent 60,000-mile tread wear warranty. 

On the road, the Road Venture APT KL51 provides the Silverado 1500 driver with a high level of traction in dry and wet conditions and strong braking power. The handling is also very responsive for a highway tire, while high-speed stability is admirable. On top of that, the Kumho is also very good in light snow, unlike other highway tires.

That said, the Kumho Road Venture APT KL51 doesn’t come in load range E trim, which means that it is not suited for towing of big trailers.

General Tire Grabber AT2​

Best off-road tires for Chevrolet Silverado 1500​

The Grabber AT2 is another popular option within the off-road community, and naturally, it is also recommended for Silverado 1500 owners who use their trucks in off-road conditions.
