Best Winter tires for Lexus RX350

The best tires for Lexus RX350 must be quiet and comfortable, but they should also offer high levels of traction and grip in the corners.

Click to Tweet

In the 90s’, SUVs were considered big and cumbersome for driving on the street, and they also lacked a splash of style. Nobody wanted one. Lexus was the first premium car company that tried to change this with the launch of the RX300. This vehicle started the crossover craze in the premium segment, bringing car-like driving dynamics and catchy looks to the dying segment. After Lexus launched their car, everybody followed, and today, crossovers are the most popular car type on the planet.

The reason why the RX300 and today the RX350 are so successful is the fact that they feel like normal cars. They drive quietly and smoothly, and on top of that, the new RX350 has excellent driving dynamics. However, in order to get all those qualities several years after you bought your vehicle, you will need a good set of tires. The best tires for Lexus RX350 must be quiet and comfortable, but they should also offer high levels of traction and grip in the corners.

The thing is, not all tires are treated equally. Some are made for better driving dynamics, while others are designed to offer better comfort. The final choice is up to the owner of the car and what he/she wants out of it. In order to help you choose the best set of tires for your Lexus RX350, the first thing you need to ask is what type of tires you really need.

To help you make the right choice, I created a short buying guide, where you can learn about every type of tire available for the RX350. Then, you can jump to the Top 10 list of the best tires for Lexus RX350, where I’ll include every tire type that the average RX350 owner would want to be installed on his/her car.

What to look out for when choosing best tires for Lexus RX350 in 2024?

Best Tires for Lexus RX350

Regardless of your driving style, the most important thing when choosing a set of tires for your RX350 is the weather in your area. Sure, every tire manufacturer offers all-season tires in their lineup, but they are still inferior to winter tires in the winter and summer tires in the summer.

This means that all-season tires are a great choice for areas with mild winters. These tires offer very good driving dynamics in warm weather, but they also work in colder weather and in light snow. If you don’t experience very harsh winters in your area, then all-season tires might be a great choice.

For those that experience harsh winter, on the other hand, winter tires are the best choice available on the market. These tires offer much better traction and grip in cold weather, both in dry and wet conditions, and they are absolutely the best choice for snowy conditions.

Summer tires are the opposite of winter tires and offer the best traction and grip in warmer weather, both in dry and wet conditions. With a set of summer tires, the Lexus RX350 will achieve much higher speeds in the corners and brake better in the summer, even when compared to all-season tires.

After we covered the weather, let’s cover the driving style of the owner. The most popular tires for Lexus RX350 are touring and grand-touring tires. These tires offer a smooth and quiet ride, complementing the luxurious Japanese crossover award-winning silence and ride quality. With a set of these tires, the RX350 will be extremely quiet on the highway and comfortable over bumps.

Touring and grand-touring tires are also extremely durable. Most of them come with at least 60,000-mile tread wear warranty, which is much more than every other tire type available on the market. The best touring and grand-touring tires for Lexus RX350 also offer very good driving experience. While traction and grip are not on the level of high-performance tires, they are still fine for most drivers.

High-performance tires, on the other hand, offer much better traction and grip in the corners when compared to touring tires. Most manufacturers offer both summer and all-season high-performance tires, as opposed to touring and grand-touring tires, which are primarily offered as all-season. In my opinion, the Lexus RX350 is not a vehicle that should be equipped with high-performance tires, but those that want elevated driving experience might want to try them. Newer RX350 F Sport models also come equipped with high-performance summer tires from the factory, and if you own one of those models, it is best to replace them with high-performance tires.

The biggest downside to high-performance tires is that they don’t last as long as touring and grand-touring tires. Most of them last around 20,000-miles, which means that RX350 owners will have to replace them after two years of use. High-performance tires also don’t offer the same ride quality as touring tires and can be noisy on the highway.

While the Lexus RX350 does come with AWD as an option, it is honestly not the best choice for off-road driving, even when compared to other cars in its class. On top of that, I am sure that owners of the Japanese crossover never drive it on anything other than gravel. That’s why I will not include all-terrain tires in the list below, which will just worsen the quietness and ride quality of this extremely comfortable vehicle.

After we’ve covered every tire type that a Lexus RX350 might need, let’s jump to the Top 10 list of the best tires for that vehicle. In the list, you will find mostly touring tires, both premium, and budget models, but you will also find winter tires for people who live in colder climates and high-performance tires for owners of the RX350 F Sport.

Top 10 Best Tires for Lexus RX350 in 2024

Michelin Premier LTX

Best touring tires for Lexus RX350

Michelin Premier LTX

A premium crossover like the Lexus RX350 warrants high-quality premium tires. That’s why I think that Michelin Premier LTX are the best tires for most Lexus RX350 owners. Sure, they are all-season touring tires, but they offer an elevated driving experience that is comparable to some high-performance tires.

In the corners, the Premier LTX handles like a champ. Traction and grip are excellent both in dry and wet conditions, giving the driver a lot of confidence, even at higher speeds. The Premier LTX is especially good in rainy weather, simply destroying its closest competitors, thanks to the EverGrip Technology that utilizes Expanding Rain Grooves around the circumference and Emerging Grooves across the shoulders that help the tire being usable in heavy rain even after the tread wears down.

Another positive surprise is the handling responsiveness, which is better than almost any other touring tire available for the Lexus RX350. The Premier LTX also offers low-rolling resistance for better fuel economy, which is always welcome.

Despite the fact that the Michelin Premier LTX offers elevated dynamics, it is still as quiet and comfortable as an RX350 owner would want. Smaller imperfections on the road are simply eaten by this tire, while noise is not an issue even at speeds higher than 70mph. On top of that, the Premier LTX is also pretty durable – it comes with 60,000-mile tread warranty, while owners report that it is strong enough to keep its shape even after several years of driving.

To achieve all these advantages, Michelin used their Total Performance Technology that utilizes a lot of innovative technologies to achieve high levels of grip and traction, better fuel economy, long tread life, and quiet rolling. The most important of those technologies is the extreme silica and sunflower oil compound, molded into symmetric tread design with continuous center rib, notched intermediate ribs, and linked shoulder blocks.

While the Michelin Premier LTX tires offer the best combination of responsive and comfortable drive, the Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza Plus offers primarily a smooth and quiet ride. Don’t worry; it is still very capable in the corners and very safe in evasive maneuvers in both dry and wet conditions.

It is obvious that the Dueler H/L Alenza Plus was designed for a quiet and comfortable ride when you look at the information that Bridgestone gives. According to the company, the symmetric tread pattern of the tire was tuned to enhance comfort and reduce noise. The ride quality is further enhanced by the polyester cords that stabilize the sidewalls. In the real world, a set of these tires will give your Lexus RX350 arguably the quietest and most comfortable ride quality on the road. These tires are as smooth as it gets.

Even though the Dueler Alenza Plus was primarily designed for comfort, thanks to the notched shoulder blocks and the continuous center it is very stable at higher speeds, which helps the driver easily keep the vehicle in a straight line on the highway. Wet driving is also covered with wide circumferential grooves, lateral notches, and sipes. They also help in light snow, but only at slower speeds.

Another great advantage of the Bridgestone Dueler Alenza Plus is the 80,000-mile tread wear warranty, which is one of the highest in its class. It’s the same in the real world – owners report thousands of carefree miles with a set of these tires.

Most premium tires on this list tend to be expensive, which should not be an obstacle for RX350 owners, but if you want a slightly cheaper alternative that is excellent across the board, then the Continental CrossContact LX20 EcoPlus is a great choice. These tires are primarily designed to offer comfortable and safe driving experience and better fuel economy, and they are also pretty durable for the price.

Like most Continental tires, the CrossContact LX20 is made of Tg-F polymers and +Silane additives that give the tire both good handling abilities and durability. On the road, the handling is responsive enough for the class, while traction and grip are excellent. The LX20 is also very good in wet conditions and resists hydroplaning like a champ, while also offering traction in light snow.

The greatest advantage of the Continental is the mpg improvements it will make, thanks to the low-rolling-resistance rubber. Sure, the improvements will be small, but still visible. Thanks to the eco-friendly credentials, the LX20 EcoPlus is also a great choice for the hybrid RX450h.

In the end, the 70,000-mile tread wear warranty is pretty high for a tire in its price range and good for several seasons of carefree driving.

Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus

Best tires for Lexus RX350 AWD

Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus

Another great touring option for the Lexus RX350 is the Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus. While a set of these tires will be an excellent choice for all RX350 owners, they are probably the best choice for owners of AWD models. The reason? Well, they’re made of a very lightweight rubber compound which negates the added weight of the all-wheel-drive mechanism. With a set of these tires, your RX350 AWD will feel faster of the line and more responsive in the corners.

Pirelli achieved this with the lighter weight of the silica-enhanced tread compound, which not only helps in the performance department but also makes the RX350 AWD more efficient due to low-rolling-resistance credentials. The asymmetric tread design, on the other hand, helps for better traction in wet conditions and light snow. Like almost every other Pirelli tire, the Scorpion Verde was also designed with drivers in mind and thus offers a pretty responsive driving experience for the category.

The only real downside, when compared to other touring tires, is the slightly lesser 65,000-mile tread warranty, but in reality, the Pirelli is still a very durable tire in its own.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV

Best tires for Lexus RX350 F Sport / best high-performance tires for Lexus RX350

Michelin Pilot Sport 4

A complete newcomer in the high-performance category (2019 model year), the Pilot Sport 4 SUV is designed for sporty SUVs and crossovers. Right now, this is absolutely the best high-performance tire you can install on your RX350 F Sport, and I fully recommend it, despite the somewhat high asking price.

Please note that this is a summer focused tire and can’t be used or even stored in cold temperatures. That said, in warmer conditions, it offers simply outstanding driving dynamics. The handling is razor-sharp and extremely responsive, while grip and traction levels are out of this world. With a set of these tires, your RX350 F Sport will feel even better than it felt out of the factory. They are that good.

On top of that, the Pilot Sport 4 SUV is also very quiet and comfortable for a high-performance summer tire, which is another big plus for this Michelin.

Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 for SUV

Best high-performance winter tires for Lexus RX350

Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 SUV

Not a lot of manufacturers produce high-performance winter tires which often leaves owners of luxury vehicles wanting for more performance when the weather is freezing. Luckily, the Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 for SUV offers the exhilarating driving experience of its summer counterparts, only in the winter.

The reason for this is that it is a high-performance tire with winter-focused compound molded into a directional tread pattern with a lot of sipes, broad shoulder blocks and a wide, central groove. In the real world, these things combined make for very responsive handling in colder climates, joined by high levels of grip and traction. The Pilot Alpin 5 is also extremely good in wet conditions, while also offering one of the best experiences in the snow. With a set of these tires, your RX350 will be transformed into a snow piercing machine. Oh, and by the way, the Pilot Alpin 5 comes with a specialized undertread that reduces rolling resistance for better fuel economy. Not something you often see in winter tires.

The Pilot Alpin 5 SUV is covered by 30,000-mile tread warranty, which may seem lower than other tires on this list, but it is still a good result for a high-performance winter tire. The only real downside of this tire is that it is pretty expensive.

Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2

Best winter tires for Lexus RX350

Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2

If you want a good set of winter tires that work flawlessly in the winter, then the Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 is another great choice. Sure, it doesn’t offer the same handling characteristics of the Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 for SUV, but it’s good enough for most people. In other words, if you aren’t interested in sporty driving experience, a set of Blizzak DM-V2 tires is all you need in the winter.

Bridgestone’s Blizzak line is so successful in cold weather thanks to the NanoPro Tech Multicell compound that features a water-loving hydrophilic coating. This coating takes the water out of the snow, which greatly improves traction. Seriously, this is one of the best, if not the best tire for driving in the snow. Thanks to the microscopic bite particles it also bites into ice, offering much better drive than its direct competitors. Handling in dry and wet conditions is also very good with high levels of grip and traction.

The Blizzak DM-V2 even has a tread depth indicator that shows when the NanoPro Tech Multicell Compound is used and when the tire only uses normal winter compound, which makes it usable in the snow even after thousands of miles driven. The ratio is 55:45 in favor of the NanoPro Tech Multicell compound.

Falken Ziex STZ05

Best high-performance all-season tires for Lexus RX350 F Sport

Falken Ziex STZ05

If the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV is expensive for you, or you want a set of high-performance tires that will also work in colder climates, then the Falken Ziex STZ05 might be a great choice. A set of these tires will still give you better grip in the corners than comparable touring tires, and it will be more responsive as well. Stopping distances will also be much shorter, and the vehicle will be more controllable at the limit.

Thanks to the double taper cut tread blocks; the Ziex STZ05 also offers excellent traction in very wet conditions, which further enhances its usability in foul weather. Despite the fact that it is not a touring tire, the Ziex STZ05 is still pretty comfortable and quiet on the road, at least when compared to other high-performance tires.

That said, if you want a durable set of tires, touring models might be a better option – the Ziex STZ05 comes with a somewhat limited 50,000-mile tread wear warranty.

General Tire Grabber HTS 60

Best budget all-season tires for Lexus RX350

General Tire Grabber HTS 60

Up to $100 Prepaid Visa by mail when you purchase a set of four select General tires.

Valid through Oct 31, 2020

Available at Tirerack.comDiscounttire.com, Tirebuyer.com

Even though the RX350 is a luxurious vehicle, some owners of older models may want cheaper tires to complement their vehicle. For those people, the General Grabber HTS 60 is an excellent choice. Being an all-season tire, it works both in dry and wet conditions and warm and cold weather. It is also usable in light snow if you ever need that. Being a touring tire, the General Grabber HTS 60 is very comfortable and quiet, rivaling the best tires in its category. The only downside is the somewhat shorter 65,000-mile tread wear warranty, but that is still a good result for the price range.

Nitto NT421Q SUV/CUV

Best budget high-performance tires for Lexus RX350

Nitto NT421Q

High-performance tires that offer high levels of grip and traction tend to cost a fortune, but not the Nitto NT421Q. Specifically designed for SUVs and crossovers, these tires offer elevated driving experience at a much lower price point than its competitors. The Nitto is good both in dry and wet conditions, and it even works in light snow. The 75,000-mile tread warranty is also excellent by class standards, but don’t expect it to be as durable as others in this category. On the positive, comfort and quietness are on a surprisingly high level.

Conclusion

I am pretty confident that by choosing a set of best Lexus RX350 tires in 2024 from the list above, you will get a high-quality product that will give you a safe and rewarding driving experience. However, always choose tires according to your needs and not the position on the list – only then you will be completely satisfied with the purchase!
